Lithium titanate (Li4Ti5O12) has recently attracted considerable attentions as a potential anode material of LIBs for high power applications due to several outstanding features. Li4Ti5O12 is a good materials used for Electrochromic glass and  Negative Electrode Materials for Li-Ion and Li-Batteries. It has been accepted as a novel anode material of power lithium ion battery instead of carbon, because Li4Ti5O12 can release lithium ions repeatedly for recharging and quickly for high current. However, Due to the electronic structure characterized by empty Ti 3d-states, Lithium titanate (Li4Ti5O12) has an insulating character. This might result in insufficient applications of LTO at high current discharge rate before any materials modifications.
