General

Zinc selenide (ZnSe) is a light-yellow, solid compound comprising zinc (Zn) and selenium (Se). It is an intrinsic semiconductor with a band gap of about 2.70 eV at 25 °C (77°F ). ZnSe rarely occurs in nature, and is found in the mineral that was named after Hans Stille called "stilleite". ZnSe films were deposited at room temperature by radio frequency magnetron sputtering onto [100] oriented silicon substrates. 


Material Notes

Zinc Selenide Sputtering Target, Purity is 99.9%; Circular: Diameter <= 18inch, Thickness >= 1mm; Block: Length < 36inch (by several pieces construction), Width <= 12inch, Thickness >= 1mm.  Indium bonding is recommended for this material, due to some of its characteristics not amenable to sputtering like brittleness, low thermal conductivity. This material has a low thermal conductivity are susceptible to thermal shock.
